Thank you for taking the time to read about the upcoming migration of your services from PowerPipe to Enom.

The migration of your services is happening so that we can provide a better experience to you, immediately and with continual improvements in the future. Enom, like PowerPipe, is owned and operated by Tucows Inc. While the PowerPipe platform hasn’t been improved for quite some time,  the Enom platform is modern and actively being developed. Both during and after the migration, you'll have access to a support team for your domains, hosting and mailboxes. This migration process will be seamless, with your products and account information brought over by Enom without your involvement.

Please review the frequently asked questions below so that you are familiar with how you will access your account with your domains, hosting and mailboxes after we complete the migration. We’re available via phone, email, or live chat if you have any questions that aren’t covered here.

Who is Hover?

Enom is owned and operated by Tucows Inc., which also owns PowerPipe, and other internet services companies.  Enom is a domain name registrar that provides domain names, hosting and email to customers like you, all over the world. Enom has been in business since 1997 and is based in Bellevue, WA, USA, with a Customer Support team operates out of Toronto, Canada.

Here's what will be staying the same:

  1. Account Information: Your account information will be transferred over seamlessly to Enom. Management of all of your account information and products (domains, hosting, and mailboxes) will be moved to Enom.

  2. DNS: There won’t change any of your DNS settings, and you should not experience any downtime.

  3. Domain Expiry Dates: All expiry dates for your domain names will remain the same.

Here's what will be different:

  1. Control Panel: After the migration, your services will no longer be accessible through PowerPipe.  During the migration, Enom will send you your login information to manage your services using the Enom control panel. Any additional domains, hosting or mailboxes you wish to purchase can be purchased through Enom.

  2. Domain Pricing: Please see our domain pricing page for details. Enom has a tiered pricing structure. You will automatically be placed in the appropriate plan based on the number of domain names in your account, and your projected total spend on domains. Learn more about how our pricing structure works

  4. Payments: Your billing statements going forward will either show "RS*DOMAINNAMEREGISTRATION" or "DomainName Register" or "Enom Domain Registrar" as the merchant, depending on your payment method.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. On the day of the migration, Enom will send you an email containing your account information, including your Enom username.

  2. Follow the steps in the email to reset your Enom password by visiting https://www.enom.com/login.aspx and supplying the username Enom provided in the welcome email.

  3. Add your billing information.

  4. Browse through your new Enom account and let us know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Does this migration impact the expiration date of my domain name?
No, the expiration date of your domain name will remain the same.

  2. Does this migration impact the expiration date of my mailbox?
Yes. Enom synchronizes email expiry dates with domain expiry dates.  This means your mailbox expiry date may be affected in one of two ways:

In the event that your mailbox expires before your domain’s expiry date, Enom is going to extend the expiration date of your mailbox to match your domain’s expiry date for free.

In the event that your mailbox expires after your domain’s expiry date, Enom is going to reduce the time remaining on your mailbox to match your domain’s expiry date, and then apply a credit to your account that reflects this change.

  3. What are the new costs of my domain names?
Enom uses a tiered pricing structure. You can view the prices for our various pricing plans on our domain pricing page. You will automatically be placed in the appropriate plan based on the number of domain names in your account, and your projected total spend on domains. The email you’ll receive one week prior to the migration will note the pricing plan you’ve been placed into. Learn more about how our pricing structure works

  4. What are the new costs of my mailboxes?
Enom will grandfather your mailbox pricing from PowerPipe as follows:

Enom will take the price that you are paying per year for mailboxes and divide by the number of mailboxes you are using.  That amount will be the price per mailbox per year that you will pay going forward.

For example, if you use two mailboxes and pay $12 per year, Enom will set a price of $6 per mailbox per year for your migrated mailboxes.

  5. Will I need to edit my DNS?
No, your DNS will remain exactly the same.

  6. What payment types does Enom accept?
Enom accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card. We also accept wire transfers, ACH transfers, USD checks, USD money orders and PayPal.

  7. What name will I see on my billing information?
Depending on your payment method, you will either see "RS*DOMAINNAMEREGISTRATION" or "DomainName Register" or "Enom Domain Registrar" on your bill.

  8. What happens if I try to log-in to my PowerPipe account?
If you try to log into your PowerPipe account after the migration, you will be given a notice that you’ve been migrated to Enom.

  9. I don’t want to move. What can I do?
We’re confident that you’ll find Enom to be an excellent domain, hosting and email provider, but if you don’t wish to move to Enom, then you can transfer your domain(s) to another registrar prior to your migration date. Additionally, if you don’t find Enom suitable after you have been migrated, you can easily transfer your domains to another provider at any time.
