By the end of this year, new top level domains (TLDs) will start launching. In order to give our partners immediate access to TLDs as they become available, we have a few things to cross off our to-do list. Arguably the most important item was completed today, when eNom signed ICANN's Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA).
Signing the new RAA is a critical step on our new TLD road map because it's required by ICANN before any registrar can start offering new TLDs. Most importantly, in the 2013 RAA, ICANN made important policy changes that all domain registrars and resellers are now required to implement. We've been working hard to make sure eNom's platform and APIs were ready to support all these new requirements.
Once RAAs are signed, registrars like eNom -- and our sister company name.com -- are signaling to ICANN that we're ready to flip-on the new TLD switch...so when new TLDs go live, our platform and our New TLD Portal & 3rd party addons can start registering domains like .media, .camera and .ninja.
If you're selling domains through eNom, stay tuned for more information about how these changes impact your business, or call our Sales team to learn more at 1 (425) 274-4500.
