Problem

My hosting service has been updated to Plesk 12. Are there any issues with this new version?

Solution

We are currently upgrading all of our hosting servers to the newest software versions. The migration is expected to be completed on all servers over the next few months. Though we do not anticipate any issues, and do not expect your website to be effected, such a large migration will ultimately result in a few cases in where some issues will arise.

Some of the known issues include:

  • Servers are being migrated in batches. As such a specific server migration may last a few days. Prior to the migration a snapshot of the server is taken and used in the migration. Because of this, it is possible that any changes made to your website during the migration window may not be reflected on the new server. A migration of an entire server can take several days.
  • The Database connected to a domain may be improperly migrated. We are aware of this and are working to correct this.
  • Some users may be seeing a "ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS" error. This is caused by a new setting in Plesk 12. If see this, go into the control panel, find and click on the domain, then click on "HOSTING SETTINGS" in the top. Under "Preferred domain" select "None" and then allow it a couple minutes to take effect.
